Description | Folio 275. Draft letter from the Poor Law Board to Thomas Watkins, Clerk to the Guardians of the Cardiff Poor Law Union. Acknowledging their letter of the 6 May 1852 referring to the particulars respecting the case of David Jenkins. The Poor Law Board point out that as to the portion of the relief which is included in accounts which have been closed and audited the proposed transfer of the charge cannot now be lawfully made but the residue should be charged to the common fund. This will enable the board of guardians to charge about £6 or £6 10s from the £17 10s Charged in error to the parish of Lantwit Vadre. Initialled: C [Lord Courtenay, Secretary to the Poor Law Board].
