| Description | Folio 604. Draft Letter from the Poor Law Board to Thomas Watkins, Clerk to the Guardians of the Cardiff Poor Law Union. Referring to the Board's letter of 19 October 1853 sanctioning the appointment of Miss Jane Stephenson as Schoolmistress at the Cardiff Workhouse for a further six months probation. The Board request a report from the guardians as to their opinion as to qualifications for her office and whether her general conduct has been satisfactory. Paper Number: 36268/1854.
