Description | Folios 234-235. Letter from Edward Senior, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner, to the Poor Law Commission informing them that no resolution concerning extra diet for the inmates of the workhouse had been entered in the minute book of the guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union. They thought that the medical officer could not order stimulants for sick paupers, without prior sanction from the guardians because of a misunderstanding over a directive from [John Riley], Auditor. Senior recommends that they change their practice. Paper Number: 2567/B/1841 Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. |
