Description | Folios 293-294. Letter from William Ashton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing for approval an appointment form for Robert Hanson Bowker as Medical Officer for the Bulwell District. The form shows Bowker, who lives in Bulwell, has been in practice for nine months. The salary to be £42 per annum. The post became vacant because of the age and infirmity of the previous incumbent.
