Description | Folio 404. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to William Ashton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, informing him that they have received a letter from G B Norman, Registrar of Births and Deaths for the Ilkeston District of the union. Norman is applying for remuneration for attending a summons to the board to give information regarding the death of two paupers allegedly from want of food. They ask for the remarks of the guardians on the subject. Paper Number: 5376/B/1841 and 5613/B/1841. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. |
