Letter from William Ashton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, informing them that the following men have been appointed medical officers: Mr Ratcliffe, Basford and the workhouse. Mr Orton, for Beeston Maltaton. Mr Smith, Greasley District. Mr Bowker, Bulwell District. Mr Smellie, Wilford District. Mr Norman, Heanor District. Mr Davison, Carlton District. Mr Swiner, parish of Ilkeston. Mr Gelsthorpe, Arnold District. Noted as the only applicant who lived within the district. Annotated: send usual forms. Paper Number: 7698/B/1841. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. |
