Description Folio 452. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to William Ashton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, acknowledging his letter of 13 July regarding the need to employ someone to value new buildings in the parishes of the union. The only legal course regarding expenses in valuations is to take proceedings in accordance with the provision of the Parochial Assessments Act. The Commission need to issue orders authorising the valuations to be made after receiving the usual declaration in each case. Paper Number: 7868/B/1841. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
