Description | Folio 557. Letter from Lancelot Rolleston, [Member of Parliament], to the Poor Law Commission, on behalf of some ratepayers and guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union referring to a resolution to pay out of the poor rates, for costs for defending an action, brought by Nottinghamshire county against three guardians. He queries the legality of the resolution and refers to their letter, reference 9449/B/1841. He asks whether the payment of costs should be arrested or delayed until the legality of the resolution is established. Annotated: Former papers. Annexed. Paper Number: 10320/B/1841.
