Description | Folios 580-582. Letter from Edward Senior, [Assistant Poor Law Commissioner], Cuckney to the Poor Law Commission following a meeting with the board of guardians to the Basford Poor Law Union regarding relaxing the prohibitory order. He gives the numbers of able-bodied men requesting relief due to low earnings in the stocking making industry. He gave reasons to the board of guardians to the Basford Poor Law Union why the order should not be relaxed. Annotated: acknowledge receipt and thank for information.
