Description | Folio 645. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to William Ashton, Secretary to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, sanctioning the relief given to the able bodied, listed in his letter dated 16 November 1841, in view of the Basford Workhouse being full. The poor listed are: Jonathan Hawkin, John Bellaby, John Oscroft, William White, William Williamson, [John Boetby], William Clifford, Samuel Spray and Joseph Slack.
