Description | Folio 706. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to William Ashton, Bulwell, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union headed 'Relief to Ablebodied'. They acknowledge particulars of the able-bodied to be given out door relief. They sanction the relief subject to the disallowance by the auditor of relief given in money at the discretion of the relieving officers and overseers to John Gretton, Elisha Smith, William Bearsley [William Beardsley], John Burton, Samuel Gibbons, Joseph Waplington, Edward Gibbons, James Kirk, Samuel Martin, William Clarke, Joseph Hansley, Samuel Vernon, James Denny, William Armston, George Chadwick, William Pownall and William Rushton.
