Description | Folio 70. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to Griffith Lloyd, Assistant Overseer of the Poor, St John the Baptist and St Mary, Cardiff Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt of his letter of 17 Feb 1844 in respect of the unequal assessment of the property in the parishes of St John the Baptist and St Mary, Cardiff and the need for a revision of the valuation. The Commission can only issue an order for a new valuation of the parishes under contracts to be duly entered into by the guardians of the union, which they will do on receipt of the forms with the new valuation. The Commission has no objection to the making of the rates quarterly. Paper Number: 2220/B/1844. Poor Law Union Number 613. Counties: Glamorganshire and Monmouthshire. |
