Description | Folios 148-149. Letter from Thomas Watkins, Clerk to the Guardians of the Cardiff Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing a copy of the Bishop's letter referred to in the Commission's letter of 31 May 1844. Enclosed: copy of a letter from John Bierder, Secretary to the Bishop of Llandaff, dated 14 May 1844, regarding the election of Reverend Judah Jones to the office of Chaplain to the Cardiff Poor Law Union, confirming that the Bishop does not withhold his sanction to the election. The Bishop is too unwell to write himself. Annotated: acknowledge and annex to [illegible]. Paper Number: 8947/B/1844. Poor Law Union Number 613. Counties: Glamorganshire and Monmouthshire. |
