Description | Folio 40. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission, to Thomas Day, Clerk to the Guardians of the Bromsgrove Poor Law Union, stating that to be a ratepayer a person must have been rated for a whole year and paid all rates due. The excusal of any rates during the year will destroy his right to vote at the election of guardians. If payment of the rate is made despite the excusal, the party will be fully entitled to vote. The churchwardens and overseers are allowed to adjourn from Thursday to the following day. Paper Number: 2209/C/1839. Poor Law Union Number 526. Counties: Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire. |
