Description | Folios 84-85. Letter from Samuel King junior, Clerk to the Guardians of Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission, in reply to his letter of 27 June 1839, number 4871/A/1839 regarding the charge against John Wells, Workhouse Porter at Gressenhall workhouse. The situation was investigated in his presence and the charge verified and he was suspended. The guardians informed him that they would apply to the Poor Law Commission for his discharge. Annotated: that Wells has been dismissed. Paper Number: 4997/A/1839. Poor Law Union Number 302. Counties: Norfolk. |
