Description | Folio 310. Letter from Henry Evans, Lyng Rectory, Reepham, Norfolk [of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union] to the Poor Law Commission. He brings to their attention the case of a disabled pauper called George Gallop. He requires constant help and is unable to work. His sister who resides in Norwich is willing to take care of him in Norwich but requires out relief. The guardian of the parish of Lyng wishes to add his name to the request for relief outside the area. Annotated: this case is an exception and the Commission have no power to interfere with the board of guardians who are able to make the decision in this case. Paper Number: 13596/B/1844.
