These consist of some records relating to accounts, 1826-1947; contracts for the supply of blanks for coins and for the supply of coins, 1802-1872; currency notes, 1821-1891; proposals for a decimal coinage, 1817-1920; papers relating to defacement of coins; designs for coins, 1701-1941, including records of the Committee on Design of Coins 1891 to 1892; proclamations relating to royal style and titles, coins minted at Melbourne and design of coins; profit and loss on minting coins; the provision of specimen coins for exhibitions, foundation stones and for sale to the public; reports on coins found as treasure trove; the Trial of the Pyx; and miscellaneous records concerning British coinage.
