Description | This series consists of registered files of the International Inland Transport Branch (IIT files), later International Transport Division (IT files), of the Ministry of Transport. They contain papers arising from the ministry's representation on international bodies concerned with transport, such as the Transport Committee of the Economic Commission for Europe, and there are a number of files relating to the carriage of dangerous goods and bilateral road haulage agreements. Some files on the Channel Tunnel have been selected. The IIT prefix was first used in 1948 and discontinued in 1961. The IT prefix was first used in 1948. |
