Title Ministry of Transport, Electricity Correspondence and Papers
Date 1892-1945
Description

Apart from three volumes of copy transfer deeds, which had their provenance in the Railway and Harbour Departments of the Board of Trade, these are records of the Electricity Branch of the Ministry of Transport covering the supply and distribution of electricity over the period 1919-1941.They are bound volumes, originating in the Board of Trade, and contain copies of transfer deeds sanctioning the movement of authority to supply electric power from local authorities to power companies during the period 1892-1914. The largest section concerns water resources and barrage schemes and comprises mainly papers dealing with a suggested barrage on the River Severn.
