This series contains Parliamentary Bill papers relating to the establishment and expansion of the Great Western Railway, from 1835 to 1864. Many of the papers are evidence and petitions for and against the various bills, considered in Parliamentary Committee. These throw light upon contemporary transport conditions and commercial life in England, and the impact of the railways. A few papers deal with related land transactions (pieces 463 onwards).
