Custodial history On Quinan's death in 1948, his widow sent his official papers to the Ministry of Supply.
Administrative/ biographical background

Kenneth B. Quinan, an American engineer, was manager of the Cape Explosives Factory in South Africa. In 1915 his services were put at the disposal of H.M. Government and during the years 1915-1919, he was engaged in the design and erection of chemical and explosives factories as Director of Factories in the Explosives Supply Department of the Ministry of Munitions.
