Description | The Treasury Solicitor and HM Procurator General miscellaneous letter books are mostly general volumes covering the period 1813 to 1861. They relate to a variety of subjects, such as the administration of estates; War Office business (until 1855), concerning matters of ordinary law distinct from military law; lunatics; criminal questions and ecclesiastical matters, particularly concerning conveyancing work in connection with the acquisition of sites for church buildings, burial grounds, etc. Other volumes contain correspondence with the Board and Office of Works regarding royal parks, palaces, etc, or they relate to prize business, or prosecutions of German war criminals under Article 227 of the Treaty of Versailles. Each of the volumes has its own index. |
