Description | Volumes of HM Procurator General, as representing the Crown, containing notes of proceeding in appeals from Admiralty Instance and Prize Courts, and from Vice-Admiralty Courts. Several volumes contain prize cases and draft bills of costs of prize cases from the Crimean or Russian War. There is also a volume relating to probate cases in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, Court of Probate, and Probate Divorce and Admiralty Division of the High Court of Justice. Traditionally, such 'assignation books' were used in maritime and ecclesiastical courts to record briefly their business proceedings. |
