Description | This is the second series of title deeds of the Commissioners of Works. The deeds relate to ancient monuments and historic buildings; art and science buildings; courts of law; General Register House and General Post Office, Edinburgh; the Isle of Man; metropolitan police courts; Ministry of Labour training centres; Pimlico improvements; public offices under the Public Offices Sites Acts 1855 to 1897; public buildings overseas; the Public Record Office; royal parks and palaces; statues; Thames Embankment and Chelsea Bridge; Westminster improvements (Westminster Hall, Westminster Abbey, the Westminster Bridge estate and the Houses of Parliament); and Windsor improvements. |
