Title | Government Code and Cypher School: Diplomatic and Commercial Sections: Reports of Messages Passed on Diplomatic Channels (COM Series) |
Date | 1942-1945 |
Description | This series comprises messages passing between governments and their legal representatives abroad. The COM file series had the same Top Secret classification as the BJ file in which diplomatic traffic was issued, and was subject to the same conditions of circulation. The series was anomalous as the traffic was processed in the Diplomatic Section but was passed to the Commercial Section for onward transmission because the messages were of interest to the Ministry of Economic Warfare rather than the Foreign Office. |
