They include records relating to actions originating in the courts at Westminster which were tried at assizes under nisi prius procedure. The records are mainly arranged by circuits: Home, Norfolk and South-Eastern CircuitsMidland CircuitNorthern and North-Eastern CircuitsOxford CircuitWelsh Circuits including ChesterWestern CircuitCross-Circuit Records There are also three series organised by record type which cross circuit boundaries. The following 14 series numbers have not been used: ASSI 7, ASSI 17- ASSI 20, ASSI 27, ASSI 29, ASSI 48 - ASSI 50, ASSI 56, and ASSI 68 - ASSI 70. |
