Administrative/ biographical background | A Central Fighter Establishment was formed at RAF Tangmere in October 1944, moved to West Raynham in September 1945 and from there to Binbrook in October 1962. It was disbanded in February 1966. Its aim was 'to increase the efficiency of the fighter aircraft and the man who flies it, in all the roles in which the day and night fighter can be used.' |
