Title | Department of the Environment: Home Improvement Grants, Photographs |
Date | 1968-1973 |
Description | The records in this series are photographic depictions of properties in various parts of the country which had been modernised with the aid of home improvement grants. They include before and after shots of rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms, and it is assumed that the records were used for publicity purposes. There are also photographs of the Department of the Environment stand at the Ideal Home Exhibition, March 1971. It is not clear from where these photographs originated, but it may have been Information Branch of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government which was responsible for publicity and exhibitions. After 1970 the Department of the Environment's Directorate of Information was probably responsible. |
Arrangement | Files in this series have been transferred in one batch. They are arranged in alphabetical order of town with unattributed photographs and the Ideal Home Exhibition photographs at the end. |
