Description | Account cards showing the value of enemy assets seized in the United Kingdom kept by the Trading with the Enemy and Administration of Enemy Property Departments. The Account Cards in this series are incomplete. There are no Account Cards for Czechoslovakia, Latvia, and Estonia or the ?German Baltic States?. |
Arrangement | The cards are all grouped by country of enemy. The majority are then filed by TWE file number, but for assets where no TWE number could be traced are separately batched in alphabetical order. |

There are no indexes to the account cards and the index to the TWE files has not survived. A numerical list of TWE file numbers survives in BT 271/807-815. Various indexes to vesting orders in BT 272 may assist in some cases. |
Administrative/ biographical background | The decision to prepare summary accounts cards from the account folders appears to have been taken in 1950, probably to assist the takeover of assets by the various administrators from the Custodian of Enemy Property. |
