Description | POSTERS: Salvage: 'Up Housewives and at em - put out your paper, metal, bones...they make planes, guns, tanks, ships and ammunition' (women marching, carrying pennant). Artist: Yates-Wilson. Media/Technique: Gouache painting with graphite underdrawing and collage elements. Collage in areas where text is present (corrections or alternate text layouts visible below). Black carbon ink and graphite annotations present around the border. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner of image area. Other media/information: On verso printed ink logo reading 'Fine Line Drawing Board by W J Saville & co Ltd London'. Graphite, colour crayon pencil and black waxy media annotations also present. |
