Title | Exchequer of Pleas: Repertories of Plea Rolls |
Date | 1412-1830 |
Description | Part of this series consists of repertory rolls running from 1412 to 1499, probably compiled shortly after the latter date. Each entry gives the county, the names of the plaintiff and defendant, the type of plea, and whether it was initiated by writ or bill. They provide a convenient means of surveying the contents of the plea rolls for that period. There are also a number of books fulfilling a similar purpose, which run from 1559 to 1659, and a single volume covering the period from 1822 to 1830, which gives only the names of the parties and the attorney. |
