Description | This series mainly consists of office copies, known as transcripts, of Crown leases, prepared by the Clerk of the Pipe, which passed under the Exchequer seal between 1554 and 1617. There are also, however, some counterparts of Crown leases passing under the seal of the Court of Augmentations, a few leases surrendered into the Court, as well as other miscellaneous material relating to the leasing of Crown land, including some leases under the seals of Catherine of Aragon and Catherine Parr. |
