| Description | Ministry of Education and Department of Education and Science HM Inspectorate reports on the full and interim inspection of local education authority and non-local education authority maintained primary schools in England, Wales and Hong Kong, under the provisions of section 77 of the Education Act 1944. The papers include some reports on all-age schools that survived the 1944 Education Act (the Act introduced, inter alia, the division between primary and secondary education at the eleven-plus age). For the period 1956-1965 the reports have been transferred into single-year pieces, reflecting the large number of full school inspections performed during those years. |
