Title | Ministry of Technology and successors: Fuel and Nationalised Industry Policy Division and successors: Registered Files (FG Series) |
Date | 1968-1977 |
Description | This series contains records relating to fuel policy and nationalised industry policy matters. It includes files on fuel oil tax, worker participation in nationalised industries and North Sea gas licensing. Both the Energy Policy Division (ENP) and Nationalised Industries Policy Branch (NIP) continued to use the FG series, but in 1974 when NIP and ENP transferred to the newly created Department of Energy, attempts were made to divide the existing FG files between the two and gradually to run down the series. At the same time some files in the FG series were transferred to the Department of Industry's Finance and Economic Appraisal Division and may have been renumbered into that division's EJ series. |
Arrangement | In November 1973 the Fuel and Nationalised Industry Policy division was disbanded and its work divided primarily between two divisions: Energy Policy Division (ENP) and Nationalised Industries Policy Branch (NIP), initially located within Coal Division. |
