Description | This series contains assignation books (series III) of the Instance Court. The books contain brief notes of the instance proceedings of the court at each session, and relate to such matters as commercial disputes, collision, pilotage, salvage, wages, etc. Formal adjournments of oyer and terminer sessions, dealing with the criminal jurisdiction of the court, are also recorded in a number of the earlier volumes, but not the actual proceedings. There is generally an index of ships at the end of each volume. |
