Description | This series consists of warrants issued under the royal sign manual to authorise grants out of the prize droits (or rights or perquisites) of the Crown arising from: captures of enemy ships and property as a result of the operations of the Royal Navy; or by reason of their pressure forcing vessels to sail into port; or droits of Admiralty, arising from other seizures in port or by non-commissioned captors during time of war. |
