Description | This series contains selected files inherited or created by the Central Computer Agency (CCA) and the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA). Earlier files originated in the Civil Service Department (BA) or the Treasury, and some have been re-registered into the numbered series used by the CCA. The files contain information relating to the setting up of CCA, including its aims and objectives; development of the use of computers in government departments; the introduction of a networked telephone system for Whitehall departments; discussions on privacy aspects of the holding of personal details on computer and details of CCTA's relationships and correspondence with interested organisations in both the private and public sectors. |
